I got my laptop!

Yaaay! This is my first journal entry with my new Laptop :) Arrived yesterday. I had left a note on the door to tell the delivery guy to leave it inside the garage. I got home from work and it was inside the house! I asked my brother if he put it there, and he said no. I didn't lock the door because my brother was home, but sleeping. So I think the delivery guy just opened the door and tossed it in there.

I might be going to Wonderland tomorrow, pending Gord gets the tickets. Will be nice to go, need to get out of this place and get some fresh air. If not, then I will be spending this weekend working on my website and playing with my new laptop. I am also going to go hardware shopping for the new server :)

I feel like a baby :( My wisdom teeth were killing me last night - my face is all swollen. I couldn't stop drooling. It was actually the drool that kept on waking me up. It would land on the pillow, pile up - then get cold... felt like an ice cube on my cheek.

I was also looking at the google usenet archives yesterday, I was trying to find the very first newsgroup post I made. Some of the stuff I found, I don't even remember writing! I am not going to post them in my journal, but will let you know where you can read them later - its a little surprise :)

Go Fishy Go!

It's been interesting, the past weekend with the Summit of the Americas being held in Quebec City. I was dissapointed in the lack of coverage on the cbc website. I ended up watching CBC Newsworld most of the time for the information I needed. As well cnn.com and news.bbc.co.uk had better online coverage than the CBC did.

In a twist of irony, the RCMP was lauching tear gas into a crowd of protestors when one of them landed inside a CBC van, causing it to catch fire.

This week is going to be a busy week in regards to deliveries coming to the house:

Monday: Two DVDs I ordered from chapters.ca

Wednesday/Thursday: My 1U case from California

Thursday/Friday: My new Dell Laptop

I hate coming home from work and seeing the "we missed you" (or as the english put it, a 'door knocker') sticker on the door. Then having to wait again so they can redeliver it. This will only be the case with laptop, since its being shipped via Purolator. With the other two packages, its being shipped via normal mail and the post office will hold it for me - they dont close until 9pm.

Today was a really nice day, in the high teens, low twenties. I washed the pickup considering it was all dirty thanks to Gords suggestion ;) Him and I and Sal and his wife saw "Joe Dirt" last night. It had its funny parts, but nothing too exciting.

I also brought my bike in to get fixed yesterday, it wont be ready until Thursday. My mom doesn't have wednesday off either - so I am going to be taking the taxi in to work all next week (except friday). I am going be going into work early tomorrow morning so that I can get a project I am working on done by that afternoon as we need to show the client.

I did my first water change in the aquarium today, went smothly - for the most part. One of the fish started spazzing out and swimming really fast all over the place. I thought that maybe I didn't let the de-chlorinator sit long enough in the new water and maybe the cholorine was hurting the fish. When I was done filling up the tank, he was just sitting in the coner , breathing really fast. The other two fish were fine swimming around the tank. About 45 min later he was breathing normally but was still in the corner of the tank. I gave the glass a little tap and off he goes. He was the largest one too, I have no idea what happened. But next weekend when I do another change - I will keep special eye on him. I have also been keeping a close eye on the Ammonia levels, which have been below detectable levels ever since I added the fish in. Thats both good and bad. Good because ammonia is toxic to the fish. Bad because I need to develop a colony of bacteria, which eat on ammonia. I have the ammonia removing stage in my filter, which could be removing the precious ammonia that my dear bacteria need to grow. This weekend I am going to add three more leopard danios. This will bring the total up to six. See how that goes for two weeks or so, then I might add another two - not 100% sure if the tank will be big enough for six. These guys are still growing!

There hasen't been any progress on the new website. Too busy with Infiniteloop stuff and work. Hopefully I will finish it up this week and launch it next weekend. The company I work for launched their new website on Friday. It was a cause for celebration at the office with Champaign and the traditional ringing of the chimes. It was also Mr. Old Sales guy's birthday, turned fourty. Someone took his photo and made "LOOK WHOS TURNING FOURTY" posters and posted them all over the town, and in the office. He was a good sport about it.

Meh! I still need to clean my room, and do laundry - Maybe I will do a load tonight. Hopefully it will be warm enough to start throwing on my summer stuff :)

Black & White

Ugh, so stressed. I just purchased my laptop today - thinking it was a mistake. I also got a 1U case for my server - also thinking it was a mistake. I spent over five thousand dollers today. Five thousand dollers I don't have. I just can't seem to keep a positive balance.

I am also going my bike fixed this weekend, so that I can start riding my bike to work. It's cosing me too much to take a taxi in every morning. There is talk of getting a car, because one will be needed when my brother starts going to Seneca.

I'm just not in the mood to write anymore.

Donkeys Live Longer

Just came back from seeing "Enemy At The Gates" - excellent movie. It really opened my eyes as to the extent of the German occupation during world war two. I never knew they actually pushed that far east into Russia.

I also locked my keys in the car tonight :/. Before I got to the theater I went to fill the car up with gas. First of all, I parked on the wrong side of the pump. I went to open the door to move the car, and it was locked. So I had to call home; my dad ended up coming with some keys.

That has been the extent of my weekend. Last night I went to a housewarming party and chilled with Gord for a bit. Today I reinstalled windows (and some new scsi hard drives) and saw said movie. Tomorrow I will be working on some stuff for Best People. Then it's back to the grind, until our next long weekend on May 25th. I am also going to throw together a budget tomorrow as well - need to get my finances in order, now that I am debt free (well almost).

New Website is almost done!

Yummy Easter Goodness

This is the first time that I am writing my journal entry at work - w00t.

So looking forward to this weekend, having the place mostly to my self. Just relaxing and chilling. Going to get some infiniteloop stuff done today too. Need to get the new server up and running soon. I am also going to get some fish tonight (like in 30 min) to put in my aquarium. I am probably going to hang out with Gord sometime this weekend too.

Just want to wish everyone a good and safe easter! Don't eat too much chocolate.

Am I any Wiser?

Nothing too exciting happening lately. Work has been pretty busy, deadlines to meet - not to mention that our IT guy is leaving on Vacation tomrrow. So we are prepping and bringing ourselves up to speed in regards to what needs to be done while he is gone.

I had the shittest sleep last night. My wisdom teeth decided to grow some more last night - so they were bothering me. I also decided to hook up my air pump for my aquarium, which was making too much noise. I built a little muffler out of a pill bottle. It helped with the sound a little bit, but not that much. I think I am going to put it on the same timer as my lights, so that it only runs during the day - while I am out.

Easter weekend is coming up - and I plan on using that time for me, me, me! My parents got all fuzzeled when I told them I did NOT want to go to Barrys place for Easter Dinner. Normally I always go to their place (during Easter or not) - but as soon as I say no once, they get all bitchy at me. I just don't feel like going! It's kinda ironic. My parents always used to say, when I was a little kid: "we hardly ever say no, but when we do why do you always get mad at us". Guess they didn't heed their own warning.

I have yet to have recieved the long awated "The Sims" from Sue. That girl! I, however, didn't know that she moved house (I knew that she was going to, but not this week). Next time I see her on IRC - will apologise for my.. ahem. forwardness into her giving me the game :)

Speaking about sue, she seems to find that electricity comes AFTER sex in her list of "essential things in her life". If it wasn't for electricity we wouldn't have vibrating beds (or just vibrators for that matter) nor would we have heating, or lights. I dont know about you, but when I have sex, I like to be able to see what I am doing - not to mention all hot and sweaty. Personally, electricity will come before sex ANYDAY! ;)

Photos from the party on Sunday are finally up! Yipee!

Thats Fucking Horse Shit!

Oh man - I don't think I have laughed as hard as I did tonight. I had a good time, just chilling with my brother and his friends (as well as Gavin and Gord). Ordered some pizza, drank some beers - made fun of Lauren (the visiting British chick).

Tomorrow Lauren and I are going to head on down to the city, Gavin is going to tag along as well. Going to show her all the sites and stuff - CN Tower, Eaton Centre.

I also cleaned up my room today - did laundry too! You might also notice that I now have an aquarium on my night table. I always had it, but put it away for a few years - didn't really have the money to buy the fish. Now I do and I decided to get the water flowing again ;) Still have to wait a few weeks before I can toss some fish in, but should be fun nonetheless.

Photos of the party (or whatever you want to call it) will be up soon.

Leaky eye and blue phones

Got my haircut today - w00t. I think I am going to colour it as well, get some nice blonde tips. I also decided to get a cell phone. I decided on fido, mainly because of the $5/mo. flat rate 9600bps data. That way I can check my e-mail/browse the web while I am on the road. I would probably have gone with clearnet had they had a data package. I had to order a nokia data cable, which should be arriving sometime later this week. In the mean time I will be able to use my palm pilot - that is until I get my Ti Powerbook.

I also have a doctors appointment tomorrow, he is going to take a look my eye. Its been bothering me for the past 6 months or so, but slowly getting worse. It wont stop watering and today it just pushed me over the edge. So hopefully he will know whats wrong and make it all better :)

My mom and I had dinner together tonight, we had the cutest server. She was so softspoken and good looking - oh man. If my mom wasn't there, I would probably have asked her out :P~

Sue came online earlier today all drunk and fucked - I would paste what she wrote, but its on my ICQ at work. It was sooooo funny! hey! Thats what you get when you drink during the week!

In the middle of the night

I can't sleep. I keep drifting in and out of sleep. It's an odd feeling, I am still conscious enough to feel my self get paralysed. A few seconds later my brain gets all fuzzy and warm.

Thats when I realise I am asleep - this is a time of joy, a time where you can be who you want to be - where you want to be. I'm in a hotel, someplace in England - probably London. Someone has their arm around me, it's a girl - She is in a black dress, with her blonde hair up, red lipstick, green eyes. She smiles at me and holds me tighter.

I try not to wake up.

The elevator doors open and we head out into the lobby. A bell hop tips his hat: "Evening Mr. Crosby - your limo is ready". Chloe (somehow I know her name) and I enter the car, and we drive off. She holds me closer - I can smell her hair. There is this feeling in my stomach, like I am falling fast and hard.

My eyes open.

I know I wont get to finish that dream. I layed in bed for about an hour tossing and turning, trying to get back to sleep. I couldn't.
