New for 2001! Dual locking washrooms
Monday, May 28, 2001 - 12:05:50 Permalink | On this day in 2005 | On this day in 2003 One thing has been on my mind the past few days - cars. Specifically my passion to get a 2001 VW Golf. I am going to call up the insurance guy tonight when I get home from work and ask him about the cost to insure such a sweet car :) If the price is acceptable, then I might go test drive one sometime this week. If I do go through with the purchase, that means no more travelling for me. Sticking to my career! I had somewhat forgotten last night that I was supposed to go out with Lindsay to Gratze (just north of Eglington, on Yonge St. for you Toronto Folk). So I had to rush to get ready, plus the stupid iron wasn't working properly, and my brother was late in returning the car. It was his birthday yesterday, we are doing the family thing next week. Going to the "Outback Steakhouse" in Richmond Hill. Large contrast for what I did for my 19th birthday - which was spending $300 on food at Pangea. The washrooms at our work have a two stage door and locking mechanism. It's almost like having to go through and air lock to use the facilities. There's the outerstage which involves a standard door. once inside you have the sink and mirror, then the second stage door for the toilet. Normally this would make sense in a multi toilet washroom, with each one compartementalised to protect one user from the other user. Except in this case, there is only one toilet. There doesn't seem to be a need for a stall. For some reason, I always feel compelled to close and lock that second, inner door. Force of habit? Probably. Necessary? Highly unlikely. Hi, my name is Blake! Friday, May 25, 2001 - 18:05:55 Permalink | On this day in 2005 | On this day in 2003 It's been a crazy week - don't feel like talking much about it. Work today was pretty lax, spent most of the time setting up a new machine for my self - plus everyone left early because of a staff party. I will be going to the boss' place in about a half hour for a BBQ. Got my business cards today! :D This is my first ever business card set. Have a nice box of 500 to give out. I also have to finish up the design of my InfiniteLoop ones, so I can get those printed as well. No plans for the weekend - Gord got his new 2001 Pontiac Sunfire this morning, so he will be crusing around town this weekend. I will have to finish up some more infiniteloop stuff and get the user management stuff done. The money situation is going nicely. I have $1k saved up already - and no credit card debt. My first payment for the laptop should be sometime next week - just have to make sure that I keep enough money in the bank account to cover it :) I still dont know what I am going to get my brother for his birthday. I was thinking of getting him a cordless phone - but wasn't really keen on spending THAT much money. I will probably end up only getting him a CD or something a little cheaper. Short entry, not really in the mood to write stuffx0rs. No Name Entry(tm) Monday, May 21, 2001 - 01:05:54 Permalink | On this day in 2002 Gord, Bryna, Kelsey, and I all went to the Drive in tonight. Saw 'Shrek' - pretty funny movie, was pretty short. Gord wasn't feeling well, and I didn't really feel like seeing the other movies, so we decided to go a little early. Bryna and Kelsey stayed behind. This weekend has been pretty dull - tonight was the most action I had seen all weekend. I guess it's partly my fault, for my tight ass budget, and not calling people. But its also the fact that a lot of people are out of town. Gord made a fine point by noticing that Aurora was absolutely DEAD on a Sunday night of a long weekend. I have been asking a few people about which they think sex is better for, guys or girls. Most guys say girls, and most girls say guys. Sue put it nicely when she said that 'girls think guys, because they can get off easier, while guys think girls because they can have multiple orgasms'. I highly disagree, sex for women is much more emotional, its lasts much longer at a deeper, spiritual level. As for guys, it's more of an 'animal instict' thing. Bang her has fast and efficiently as he can, then move on to the next girl. Guys just do it to have that feeling of 'yes! I just had sex'. While girls do it for the 'oh my god, I feel so good right now'. Guys want it to be fast and quick, while girls want it to be long lasting. Guys bodys just wern't meant to be like that. Let me know what you think! Whether I am a guy or a girl, I could use some sweet lovn' right now :) One more time! MmmmMM Fragmaie Friday, May 18, 2001 - 20:05:59 Permalink | On this day in 2002 I remember seeing this really cool video when I was in Australia. It was animated, on an alien planet with these nice cute looking aliens dancing to this catchy tune. Later in the song, these big bad nasty looking aliens start blowing up buildings and destroying their party! I never saw the video again, and I didn't hear the song again until today. I was downloading some Daft Punk and came across it. I really like this song - brings me memories of Australia. I didn't end getting up today until around 10am and trudged into work at 10:30. Spent most of my time talking with Sue, I love that girl :) Sent her some flowers for her b-day too! Lets hope she likes 'em! Her website's been down for a bit, not sure why - but I think she is PHPing it :) I am going to be rewriting my website in embedded perl soon, but thats pretty close to the bottom of my list. I also have to set up and give Pascal my journal scripts, so he can modify them to be able to make his website a little more dynamic :) I don't have plans for this long weekend - except working on finishing up some loose ends in regards to Infinite Loop. I might go see a movie tonight, or something - don't want to spend too much cash, cause I need to start saving more aggresivly(sp). Thanks to Mr.B0h I have some new tunes to listen to... gooo Fragma Server Is Up! Again Tuesday, May 15, 2001 - 23:05:29 Permalink | On this day in 2002 Well, I spent the majority of tonight getting my new server back in working order. Everything seems to be going good. I will be moving blakecrosby.com over in the next few days. The mornings are still too cold to ride my bike, that is witout a touque and mittens. Took a taxi today, just didn't feel like riding in the cold. I hope the mornings get warm fast :) At least next week is a long weekend, thanks to Victoria Day. I dont have any plans, but my brother is going to Silver Sands for the weekend - he will have fun. So far this week as gone by pretty fast! Almost Wednesday too! Work is alright. Working on some internal stuff, so less pressure there - plus its more fun. I get to work out my creative brain now. I like it! No complaints from work :) A crusty guy, and a burnt foot Sunday, May 13, 2001 - 12:05:01 Permalink | On this day in 2005 | On this day in 2003 Had a really good weekend! Firday night Gord, Sal, and I all decided just to hang out at his house for a bit - played some CounterStrike, did the typical geek thing. Got home at around 1:30 and Mark and Damon called asking if I wanted to to do something. We headed out and drove around the town for a bit. We got back to my place at around 3am, hungry as hell. I decided to make some Macoroni and Cheese. I started boiling the water, we were loud as hell, 3am in the morning, parents trying to sleep up stairs. My dad starts yelling to shut up and for Mark and Damon to go home. So I start taking the boiling water off the stove, where Damon proceeds to bump into me, spilling the water all over his foot and the floor. My parents left for some cottage/resort thing for the weekend Saturday avro, so I had the house to my self. My brother was going to invite some people over, so I decided to do the same. Had some tasty hamburgers and hot dogs! I just wish it was warmer, so we could eat out side, but alas - the sun was out. Craig brought over this crazy smoothy mix stuff - which was AWESOME. We chugged down on some tasty Strawberry/Bannana/Raspberry smoothys and headed on out to Jim Percys place for the rest of the night. Today I am going to finish up some laundry and clean up my room. Last night I made the mistake of leaving out my laptop while I was gone to Jims. My brothers friends were still over, and I guess they hopped on it. They went to places like gord.com and bryna.com - trying to see if any of my friends had websites. Fully drunk they hit my website. I havn't had the webcams working for weeks now, but they think that if they go in my room they would be on it (which is why when I got home, everything in my room was all over the place). That of course, didn't work. Took my brother and his Girlfriend (along with Craig I think) 2 hours to clean up the place, do dishes, etc.. It was a mess! I took some pictures, which I will post sometime later this week. Loooooong Days Wednesday, May 9, 2001 - 23:05:27 Permalink Been a while since I last wrote in here :) Been busy (as usual) with the installation of my new machine = along with work and catching a DVD or game of CounterStrike once and a while. Been riding my bike to work a lot lately. It's not so bad now with the seat a little higher and more air in the tires. Gord and I went riding last Sunday, going to try to make it a somewhat regular thing - to keep in shape. It's also something to do. Not sure if I will buy a new bike, need to save up for the Camera and Laptop. I got an extra 128MB of ram for the Laptop, which is good. Next pay cheque I will be getting the second battery. After that, it's save, save, save. Been missing Australia a LOT lately. All this talking to Kat and my other friends in Oz online is making me want to go back NOW. Her and Glen are really the only two people who talk to me while I am at work, keeping me company :) They're great! Life is alright - fish are good, i'm eating healthy. The days are long, summer is arriving! Gord might hook me up with a job at the copy place in the mall, get some extra cash :) Hope that works out nicely. Bored on a Saturday Night Saturday, May 5, 2001 - 23:05:33 Permalink | On this day in 2003 | On this day in 2002 Yes folks! Yours truly is sitting home, in his bead, with his trusty laptop on a Saturday night bored out of his mind. I just finished watching MallRats, both with and without the directors commentary. I guess I could go to bed early, I guess thats what depressed lonley people do. I can also work on my new website, or finish cleaning my room. Meh! I really hope Lindsay and I go out to Le Marche tomorrow night. She asked me if I wanted to go tonight instead - I wanted to, but alas had no cars. My mom was the first to arrive home at around 10pm, and my brother scooped the car shortly thereafter. I also gave Mark a call, but alas he was busy tonight. My neighbourhood is looking great! There are leaves on the trees now, and the grass is green. This past week has been excellent weather wise. Only lately has it been getting cold enough at night to have to close my window. My fish are doing great. They all seem to be getting along nicely. I think I will add two more later this week. 8 Is all (I think) my 20 Gallon tank will be able to handle. Once the alage starts growing (in about 3 weeks) I will add a nice "cleaner" fish :) Thoughts On Life Friday, May 4, 2001 - 12:05:36 Permalink | On this day in 2000 I have been reading various journals around the net lately, some people really have some good points. One in particular stuck out: "...kids these days are so much more different than i when i was their age. i was at the local mall and all i saw were these little youngins dressed up as if they came straight out of a gap ad. they got the capri pants, the bright tank top, the jean jacket around their waist, and dont forgot about those flip flops that are in this season. they travel in packs in the mall, just hanging around cuz they got nothing else better to do after school. today's youngins look so much older than they really are. they wear heavy makeup at the age of 14 and got the trendy clothes. when i was younger we didn't have stores like mexx kids, la senza girl, or club monaco kids etc.. it wasn't till recently that these stores popped up targeting at the youngins...." That is so true. Its funny how when you are a trend setter, people think you are a freak - that is until EVERYONE started looking like you. By then you're out of date (in your mind) because you've had spiked hair and those stupid sun visors on for a year before they became all trendy. I feel so old, like my style hasn't changed in YEARS. Keeping up with the trendyness is expensive. I really do need new clothes though. I feel bad about meddling into peoples lives last night. Things didn't work out has I had hoped, now I feel guilty for what happened :/ A $4 tip Thursday, May 3, 2001 - 00:05:06 Permalink | On this day in 2003 Its been a long time since I updated the journal - apologies to my regular readers :) It has been a busy week (both socially and work related). My original plan was to head down to Toronto tonight to install my new machine at 151 Front St. That didn't happen (wont until Tuesday). So I decided to chill at Gords place, watch some DVDs. The new laptop has been holding up excellently! So glad I got it :) Everyone has been impressed so far with the way it performs/looks. This whole week has been excellent weather wise. Today it was in the low thirtys. I have been sleeping with both my window open and fan blowing :) It's so nice. The hot weather here is so much different than the hot weather in Sydney. Not so sticky, and .. uhm.. hot! ;) This will all change come July. I am not sure if I am still going out with Lindsay tomorrow - we were supposed to go down to the city for dinner. I will have to call her tomorrow to make sure. Failing that, I might just chill with after dinner or something. I also want to bring my camera - need to take some more pictures of me and her and Toronto and stuff :) I still haven't heard back from Toni yet :/ She still must be on her vacation - I can't remember where she went though. I really want her to come visit me in the next few months. Would be nice for us to go down to New York City too. I also need to get my ass in gear in regards to businness cards/invoices, etc.. with Infiniteloop! :/ |
