POTA!
Saturday, July 28, 2001 - 23:07:15 Permalink Oh yeah, Planet Of The Apes! I just finish seeing it tonight. It was better than I expected: eight out of ten :) Mark called me during the movie, didn't find out until I got out though :/ Had I had a choice, I would have taken spending the time with Mark, than watching the movie. I sent off my letter and an issue of Infiltration to Kat today. Also picking up my FreeBSD Stuffed Toy thingys at the post office. One is going in the car, the other one is just hanging around either at work - or here at home. I can't seem to keep my room clean :/ So I will be doing some cleaning tomorrow *sigh*. Next week is going to go by pretty quickly - then its off to the cottage. Running Around! Thursday, July 26, 2001 - 01:07:45 Permalink | On this day in 2002 Fuck, don't you hate it when you lose a journal entry without saving it.. ugh! I also hate it when you forget to call someone - Sorry Gord! I decided to be nice tonight and went to the movies with my brother and Suzanne (his girlfriend). Paid for the ticket, and some popcorn and drinks. We went to see Jurassic Park 3 - short movie, kept me interested. I really want to see planet of the apes - looks good! Work is alright - got my self into a nice little groove. Stroll in at around 9:30am or so and work my way until 5:30. Today was a little stressfull, but I got everything working by the end of the day. Tomorrow is going to be an easy day, Allison (our Admin/Receptionist/Marketing chix0r) is going to be leaving for school. She's on her way to Europe first :) We are having a nice party for her and stuff - should be good :) These next weekends are going to be busy. This weekend heading up to London, leaving friday night. The weekend after that, leaving Friday morning for my cottage in Quebec, returning Monday night. Then its a small break for two weeks, then off to the airport to pick up Jen (shes flying from Tokyo). Not sure if we are going to go out that night (Jet Lag sucks). She's going to stay over at my place, then we head out to Kingston together. Not sure how busy she is going to be though, so we might see eachother during the weekends. Most likely the long weekend of the week she is arriving. During the two weeks between cottage and Jennifer, I might be going on a nice $500 shopping spree with Lindsay - part of the new look I am going for :) (couresy of Kat) lalalal, I need to sleep - almost 2am. What Lifes All About Tuesday, July 24, 2001 - 01:07:25 Permalink A lot of people have expressed a dislike for the new look and feel of the website. Most people like the old one better. I don't like neither, I feel that none of them truly reflect the type of person I am. I am going to think long and hard before I roll out my next design. Kat and I have been doing a lot of talking lately. Yesterday infact I pretty much spent the whole day talking to her about heaps of things. I really seem to have a new outlook in life now and I am in for some big, yet suttle changes in the next few months. She's such a cool chix0r, and I would love to be friends with her for a super long time! I also talked with Lindsay breifly (not the Lindsay I liked, the other one) and she's willing to go shopping with me sometime next month. I budgeted $500 for new clothes and shoes, it's not a lot, but thats all I can really afford. It's amazing how much time and effort it takes to look beautiful. Whats even more amazing is how people wont even take a look at you, unless you do look beautiful, even if thats not who you truly are. You know how much easier life would be if people noticed you for who you are - not what they want your hair to look like, your clothes. You wont get anybody in life unless you look like someone you aren't. Being depressed sucks. The only thing I look forward to is Jennifers visit to Canada. Do I Hear An Encore? Sunday, July 22, 2001 - 13:07:07 Permalink Had a great time this weekend! Katrina was having a little get together, and I was unable to make the last one - so I made sure that this time I popped over to her place - so glad I did. Saw so many old school (literally) people there, some people I havn't seen in 3 or 4 years. [wow! thunder lightning right now!] Katrina also had a pool, so a bunch of us also went swimming. Gord decided to soak everyone on the patio with his patented gord splash technique(tm). Most people Jetted early, so by 1am rolled around it was just Katrina, Me, Dave and Gavin. We just chilled drank, talked, drank some more and talked. I ended up leaving at around 5:30am or so, got home and slept :) Saturday was pretty uneventful, played Counterstrike and just chilled with Kat. I had plan on taking some photos for Kat on Saturday, but no dice. Got dressed, all "nice and sportay - typical b0y look" according to Kat :) Then picked up Gord and Shaun and we headed up to Brians place in Barrie. I was tired from the night before, so didn't really feel like going out to a bar. So we (gord and Brian and I) decided to just chill at his place and watch a movie. Good news on the Aussie front - a little piece of Australia is coming into my life in late August :) Remember how I was talking about Jennifer? Well she agreed to letting me pick her up at the airport :) Which is so nice! Not sure exactly when she needs to be at Queens, but hopefully she can spend some time in Toronto and I can show her around and stuff. I really hope the little stuff freebsd guys that I ordered on Thursday arrive on Monday - one's going in the car, the other one on my computer. I was thinking of also putting a 'h4x0r' bumper sticker on, but decided against it :) What 2.5kg does to a man Thursday, July 19, 2001 - 01:07:11 Permalink argg. I just weighed my self today - 68.5KG! What the hell is with that? Mostly likely due to the fact that I got a car, therefore I go out to eat moer junk, plus not riding my bike to work anymore. So I decided to get a gym pass at the local Leisure Complex to bring my weight down to a nice 65Kg :) Turns out Lindsay has a boyfriend - thats cool though :) It was just the alcohol talking ;) Thats allright, I think there is something in the rule books about dating your brothers girlfriends friend. Parents started hassling me about not doing enough around the house. Cut the grass! Vaccum the house! Clean your room! Arggg! I swear its harder for people to move back in, than it is to move out. I would gladly pay nice rent someplace and not have to deal with the hassling me. That someplace being back in Glebe, Austrlia. I've been kinda depressed lately, missing Australia and all my friends down there. Talking with Kat every day at work (she's the only one still up, that night owl) has kinda made me yearn for The Loft. In due time my friends. My plan is to return in September 2002, however, I would LIKE to be able to get back in March so that I can see Sue before she leaves for the UK. Just chilled with my brother for the past three hours. Smoked some weed, had some pizza - just chilled. 1:40am, should sleep - must .....talk...to...kat! New Website! Sunday, July 15, 2001 - 23:07:41 Permalink Finally got the new website up and running! Let me know what you think. It's pretty much done, clean and simple. So whats happening to the old one? Just making it a little more professional. I actually had a really good weekend. Mark and I headed out to see "The Score" at SilverCity in Newmarket. Alright movie, perfect for a rental with some popcorn. After the movie, we grabbed some food at Wendys and headed to Shoeless Joes to meet up with my brother and his friends for some drinks. That didn't last to long and we headed out to Charlies for some more drinks and dancing. Ended up getting home at around 1:30. I would have stayed longer, but my brother wanted to go home - party pooper! Today was filled with laundry, cd burning and webcam goodness. I did some experimenting as to why my car cd player wouldn't play cds I burnt. I narrowed it down to the speed at which I was burning the disks (16x). Everything seemed to work nicely when I burned the CD at 4x. No more burning CDs as I am heading out the door :/ I also got my night vision camera up and running. Goodbye 2008, welcome FF Friday, July 13, 2001 - 23:07:01 Permalink | On this day in 2002 It's been a pretty uneventful week. Work, sleep, work, sleep - pretty much thats all I did. I was hoping to be able to get out of work a little early, since I got in at 8am. That wasn't the case - ended up staying late with a fellow employee to get some stuff done. Ended up leaving work at around 6:30 or so. Drove down to the city, dropped off the fellow employee, and headed to The Paramount - to see Final Fantasy in Digital. I ended up watching the movie in IMAX format instead. The movie has an interesting story, but still follows that same formula of myth vs. military vs. enemy. I was impressed with the level of detail the sprites in the animation had. However I still found their movements to be too computer-like. Overall I rate the movie an eight out of ten. I really liked the 'look and feel' of the movie. With the holographic controls, weapons, buildings, and vehicles all having a really nice futuristic look. A loooooong time ago, back when I was in Australia. I met this really nice person - Jennifer! It was at my last social function in Aussie Land. Anthony's and May's combined b-day party. If you look back to a previous entry (Jan 21st, 2001) I said her name was Sarah. Well, I don't know what I was thinking - but yes, it is the same person, and her name is Jennifer. It would be great to see her. We're keeping in touch via email. She should be in the country in about a month or so. I plan on giving her a nice tour of the city, before she heads off to Queens for school. Well we lost to Beijing, for the 2008 olympics. Que'll Surprise! It would have been GREAT for Toronto to have won the bid. 56 votes for China, 22 votes for Canada - not even close. Well, I guess there is always 2012. *drool* DQ Blizzard! Monday, July 9, 2001 - 00:07:13 Permalink | On this day in 2002 This weekend was uneventful. I spent most of today reinstalling FreeBSD on my gateway machine, and throwing my mp3s online. I had also planned to get my second (the night vision) camera back online. Will probably do that tomorrow. Mark, Bryna, Gord, and I all went down to the city for a "TV Preview" Focus group thing. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The prizes where just household items like cleaners, plastic wrap, etc... The shows we had to watch sucked pretty hard as well and they were old cheesy things to top it all off. I was amazed to see the wide range of age groups there. I figured it would be mostly older people, but there were some slut..err.. young people too. We were there for about two hours, then headed home. Had some TASTY Dairy Queen, just as they were closing. Ugh! Stupid Dairy Queen drones don't know how to close a store, they were supposed to close at 10pm, but by the time we left, customers were still coming in. They were all bitchy about it too, all you really needed to do was lock the door - and nobody will come in! I was kind of hoping this would be my first journal entry on my new website, but alas - it's not. Soon though! My room is a freakn' mess again, ugh! And it's all clothes too. I have two seperate 'areas' in my room, one for clean, one for dirty. Just have to keep that sweet balance, and not mix them up. My fish are doing great! I still need to get some more, but again - haven't had time. I might go tomorrow after work and pick some up. Not sure if I want to get some more Danios, or something else. Short week, long weekend Saturday, July 7, 2001 - 01:07:50 Permalink | On this day in 2002 For a short week (we had monday off due to Canada day), it seemed like it was a 10 day week. It went by so slowly! This weekend is going to be quiet. Tonight, just chilled with my brother and his girlfriend. Dead tired right now! Not sure what I am doing tomorrow. Sunday Mark and Gord (and maybe Bryna) are going to this TV Preview thing. Where we get to watch pilots of upcoming shows and rate them. I think Gord is in on it for the free stuff. The car is doing great, I am at about 1/4 of a tank of gas, with about 450kms on it! I was hoping to get around 550 or so, but not sure if I will get THAT good fuel efficiency! The top half of the guage seems slower to go down, then the lasat half. I have started kicking it up a few notches, by squeeling tires, reving engine, etc... Figure I would get it out of my system early :) I also washed the inside and outside. Got interrupted by my brother, asking if I could pick him up at work. I can hardly keep my eyes open, sleep. I lost it! Monday, July 2, 2001 - 21:07:27 Permalink | On this day in 2003 Where the HELL is my "Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" DVD? I can't seem to find it anywhere. I can't remember if someone borrowed it. If you have it, can you let me know? I filled my GST for the past two quarters. Looks like I will be getting some nice fat rebate. Not sure how long that is going to last :) Today was pretty relaxing. Got some much needed laundry done. Started to clean up my room - but of course I didn't finish. So glad its only a four day week coming up :) Smooth Salty Nuts Permalink | On this day in 2003 Ahh yes, another day which involved flipping the calendar to a new month. Yet, it was still a good day! Mark and I headed up to the mall today, he had to buy the new Radiohead CD. I just went because I had nothing else to do. We then headed to gords for a bit, I had to return some of his stuff (dogma DVD and his half life CD). We chilled there for a bit, then headed to Keswick to pick up Bryna! Headed back to Newmarket, and picked up Lisa then headed to a bar to meet up with Drew and Amy. Did a little bar hopping to Shoeless Joe's then to Tom A Jerrys. Stupid, retarded Shoeless' kitchen wasn't open so we decided to head to Tom and Jerrys. Actually had a great time there (not to mention our waitress was a nice hottie :) ) I got these tasty Mozerlla sticks and a nice coke (I was the designated driver). I only had a $10 bill and some pocket change, the bill came to $10.58! Perfect! I felt so bad that I wasn't able to give her a tip, I asked Mark for some change - nothing, I also asked Gord, he didn't have any either! Then I realized I had some change in my ash tray of my car! So nice! I pulled out a loonie and a twoonie, gave it to her and she laughed at the whole ordeal :D This was the first time I truly had a long talk with Drew. That guy is pretty smart, he's someone I can really talk to for hours and hours. There was also small talk with Bryna concering a New York trip some people are taking. A road trip to New York city would rock so hard. So much fun! It's odd - I have spent more time going out with my friends in the past 6 months, then I have in the last two years high school. It's amazing how peoples ideals and opinion of others change when they are around different people. I always had this feeling of 'i'm too mature for everyone'. People judged you on everything that you do. If you don't conform to their 'image' then you arn't welcome in the group. Classic example: I had posted some nude photos of my self on my website. People at school started making fun of me because of what I did. From that point on I was too 'weird' to hang out with them. Nobody else saw past those nude pictures of me. Three years later, I hear people saying that 'it took a lot of guts to do what you did, and I admire that'. Why the HELL didn't you think about me that way when I was in school. That's partly the reason why I hated High School so much, I didn't really have any friends. Nobody ever called me to ask if I wanted to do anything. I gave up after a while when I called people and they were always 'busy'. In a way I am kinda glad this all happened, otherwise I probably wouldn't know as much about computers as I do now. I have been keeping an eye on Kats new webcam. I regret SO MUCH, that I didn't spend more time with her when I was in Australia. The more and more I talk to her on IRC, the more I grow fond of her. We have quite a few qualities in common. I hope our Europe plans still happen come 2002 :) I hope I get up early tomorrow - don't want to waste it. Need to do laundry, clean my room. My room is a disaster. It's no longer cozy anymore. I walked into Marks room this afternoon and I miss it so much. Its so cozy and inviting. I need to recreate that atmosphere in my room. I think partially the reason why I am having such a hard time is because my room is a lot bigger. Fuck! I also need to put those photos up of my car and my weekend at Gords - will probably do that tomorrow as well. Quicky: AI & Photos Sunday, July 1, 2001 - 01:07:22 Permalink | On this day in 2002 Been a pretty uneventful weekend. Been trying to get a hold of Gord all day today. We were supposed to meet up, but that never happened. Mark was busy with some girl, so I was left alone to entertain my self tonight :/ I decided to drive up to Newmarket and watch A.I. It's a classic Kubrick - a good movie nontheless, eight out of ten! I have yet to post photos of my new car online, along with the pictures from the weekend at Gords cottage - just havn't been in the mood lately. In fact, I havn't really been in the whole computer mood lately. |
