Yaay for timtams!
Thursday, August 30, 2001 - 23:08:29 Permalink | On this day in 2005 | On this day in 2002 Today was a pretty hellish day, especially at work :/ Been really busy - at least I am enjoying it though. It's not work that I dont want to do. I just wish I was getting paid more, thats all. I got $1300 back from the ATO though, which is good - going towards my little credit card debt. I am also going to be getting the rest of the Fox money too, so that will come in handy :) Got an email from Jen today - she said she found a place. yipee! I'm so happy for her. Hopefully I will get to see it this weekend, apparantly though - she really isn't allowed to have friends over :( However, the landlady said it was cool, just as long as it wasn't EVERY weekend :) I'm cool with that :) So glad that it's the long weekend coming up :) Took care of some domain name stuff, for my parents restaurant today. looks like its going to have to be chinookrestaurant.ca. A little on the long side, but we didn't really have a choice. Set up the website, and a few email accounts. Still a lot of work needs to be done! Hrm, some stupid kids are speeding around in a car lighting off fireworks... I think I go better move my car off the road, and into the driveway! Hi Jen! Bye Jen! Wednesday, August 29, 2001 - 22:08:54 Permalink The past two days have been AMAZING. I will never forget the smile on Jens face when I picked her up at the airport. She must have been releaved when she saw that I was actually there to pick her up :) We headed back to my place, all along the way Jen was bouncing around, she was so excited! Showed her around the house, replied to some emails, and headed out to the city. We walked around everywhere. Got off the train at Queen, walked down Queen to Spadia, down Spadina to Front Street, accross Front St. back to Yonge St. Up Yonge St. to Richmond, back down Richmond to Chapters, then hopped back on the subway to Eglington. We ate dinner at Grazi - food is so good, yet so cheap. $37 for the two of us (my Bloody Caesar was like $5). Got back home and pretty much zonked out for the night. I wanted to show her Newmarket and more of Aurora - plus she wanted to do some laundry, there just wasen't enough time! So today, we got up at 8am, took a shower, had some brekky - then headed out to the city. I had to go to the dentist before we headed to Kingston, so we got that out of the way. I don't know what it was, but the whole time we were driving up - I couldn't stop peeing. It was so annoying - drank WAAAY to much at brekky (tasty Ruby Red greapefruit juice). Kingston is a kick ass town. Right on the water, its small and quaint. Queens is a rocking place too, the falculty are so nice. Jen was amazed at how willing they were to help her. They plopped her into temporary residence (which is good until Saturday), but gave her the daunting task of finding a place before Saturday. She will no doubt find one pretty quick :) We took care of most of the paperwork, and then chilled for about 45 min or so in her "dorm". Talked about Japan mostly, I really didn't want to leave. I was having so much fun with Jen, and Kingston rocked so hard! The drive home sucked pretty bad. 2.5 Hours all by my self! I was (and pretty much still am) depressed about leaving Kingston/Jen. I don't know why! I'm hoping to see her again this long weekend. So I pretty much just have to hang in there for a few days. Work tomorrow is going to be bad :/ So much pilled up, because of these two days I took off. I will most likely be going in early tomorrow and friday to get a head start on some of it. My online resume (which will be up at my old site, www.blakecrosby.com) is about half done - been so busy, haven't had time to work on it. It was nice having a bit of aussie back in my life, if only for two days :) The Colour Purple Sunday, August 26, 2001 - 01:08:11 Permalink I have decided to change from the standard "windows default" colours, to "Lilac" - whooo ahhhh! I decided it was time for a change :) Ever have one of those days, where you are afraid to look at your bank balance - not sure what to expect? I dare not take a look, at least until this Thursday - when I get paid :) Nothing too exciting today - did some laundry. Cleaned Schn today. Waxed her, cleaned the windows, vacuumed - probably spent 3 hours on her :) I had the car parked half on the sidewalk and half on the drive way. This was done, because the car needed to be in shade for me to wax it. Well, our faggy next door neighbour decided to call the cops. I got a $25 ticket for "stopping on sidewalk". I took the ticket and saw that, according to the cop, I was parked at house number "66" and not "68". The ironic thing is, my neighbours house is number "66". I photocopied the ticket, and wrote "ha-ha ass hole" and circled the incorrect street address. Then I plopped it in his mail box :) Tomorrow is going to be filled with more cleaning, and working on some SQL stuff, fun! I updated my movies section, as Mark and I saw a movie last night. Meh! now I am going to try to sleep again :) Hubcaps, Beers, And Letters Wednesday, August 22, 2001 - 23:08:37 Permalink Schn got some new wheels! All in all (with taxes and stuff) it came to $400 to get two new rims and hubcaps. So nice, having a smooth ride now. I got a letter from Kat today! w00t, so nice seeing something from Australia in my hands again :) The letter was short, but sweet - typical girl writing. Going to write her back soon. I also think I am going to write Toni a nice old fashioned letter as well - we haven't e-mailed eachother in a long time. I think old skool written letters are MUCH better than e-mail. It's more personal, and fun. I just enjoy writting letters more than e-mails. Gord, Alex, and I went to Philly (or is it Filly) and the Firkin. Just chilling, having a few beers. I had some tasty, TASTY nachos - but nothing compaired to Toxteth Nachos. It was nice, talking about life in general, the industry we work in (new media/print/web/multimedia etc...). Better than sitting at home all night playign vids. 6 More days before Jen gets here :) Jinkoukouu Sunday, August 19, 2001 - 21:08:13 Permalink | On this day in 2003 I woke up to the sound of pitter patter of rain on my window - Finally, it's raining! I was both releaved and depressed that it was raining. It hadn't rained in over 21 days - the brown and dry grass and plants where just loving it. The rain just added to that depressing "shit, it's Sunday" feeling. I have been pretty much playing with BeOS all weekend - got a few offers for a BeBox, all too expensive though. I really do love that operating system :) I headed up to chapters for about an hour and a half, picked up a new copy of Shift. Looks like they changed their look, not too sure if I like it though. I had planned on getting my hair coloured today - but I think I will pass on that until sometime later this week. The money I am making from Fox, which was originally going to new clothes, is now going towards to poor injured Schn. Still not 100% sure how much its going to cost, but we will find out on Wednesday. Despite the crappy weather, I was feeling pretty good about my self. I love that feeling of getting up at around 10am or so, bumming around on the net, taking a nice, hot, lucious shower - getting all cleaned up, then heading out. Something about that feeling of clean clothes, fresh deoderant, and a few sprits of cologne to get a man up and out that door! I just hate how long it takes to feel this way - meh! Got an e-mail from Jen last night - Yipee! She said she sent me a postcard, which I havn't gotten yet. Can't wait to get it though. She seems really excited to come to Canada - just hope I can show her a good time in less than 24 hours ;) A prize goes to the first person to tell me what todays title means! Ahhh crap. Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 20:08:38 Permalink | On this day in 2005 | On this day in 2004 Looks like I got into my first accident with Schn. Busted two hubcaps, bent the rim of both the front left and back left tires. The tires are probably going to need to be realigned. The steering arm for the left wheel might also have to be replaced. All this is happening on Wednesday, I hope its not too much money, cause I am trying to save up. Work has been meh! Nothing too exciting happening there, same old work. I have been poking around looking for a second job, but havn't found anything yet. Just need something to get me some extra cash, weekends and evenings. Plans for this weekend are non existant - I will most likely work on InfiniteLoop stuff to get that all done and over with, so much to do though :/ Week hasn't been too exciting, hence short journal entry. It's coming! Sunday, August 12, 2001 - 16:08:42 Permalink | On this day in 2003 Don't worry folks! The new website is almost done, and should be here soon! Yaaay! No more looking at this shitty one, w00t! Because of the water ban (nice 40 C weather for the past 12 days), I have been unable to wash the horse and buggy. So today I decided to head out to a DIY car wash. Cost me $8, but I was able to rinse the car with soapy water, then use this cool foaming brush thingy, then rinse it with clean water, then wax it! God bless the power washer! $2 for each "stage", each stage is 5 minutes. Gives me plenty of time for my little Golf. I did have to rush a bit with my foaming brush though. Last night I headed over to Katrinas for a little get together. It wasn't as good as the one she had before though :/ My allergies were acting up all night , and I was pretty tired. Gord and Bryna got into a fight, Mark didn't show up until almost 12, and Gavin and I were the only ones swimming in the pool. I did get to see some new faces though , Bryan, Nate, and Two people Bryna invited. Friday night, Gord, Gavin, Katrina, Bryna, et al. Went to see American Pie 2 at Silvercity. Excellent movie, infact most people feel it was better than the first one. It was, however, the best movie I have seen this summer. The summer blockbusters have been pretty shitty this year. Let's hope that this Christmas Blockbusters will be much better. My room is a mess again! I don't think I am going to clean it up today though. Most of today is going to be spent working on some projects I have going (stupid online catalogue is driving me insane!). I just hope I can get to bed at a good hour tonight, since being up until 2am the past two days have gotten my body into a weird sleeping pattern. I got an email from Jen (16 days until she arrives) from Japan. It sounds like she is having an AWESOME time. Wish I could be there :/ Andrew also put togther an online Photo Journal of a bush walk he went on with Kat. Made me miss Australia even more. The vegitation is so lush and green, even at the end of winter! I am saving up for a trip, thats for sure - whether its to Europe or Australia is yet to be decided. I also talked to Toni, she said she might visit me in September - she has to save up money as well, heeheh. Lizzy might also visit me in September as well, all these yummy people visitng me for my B-Day! w00t! My 6 month mark is quickly approaching at work. I have a feeling its going to pass by without any notice as well. I just hope I dont have to remind my boss that I am due for a raise. A French Weekend Tuesday, August 7, 2001 - 00:08:57 Permalink | On this day in 2003 The cottage was great! Incase you don't know the whole deal: Brother, Mark, Suzanne and I headed up to Montreal (well Magog really) to spend the long weekend at my Grandparents Cottage. We had a GREAT time! The ride up was pretty long, its about 680kms from my house to the cottage. Left Friday at around 10:30, didn't get to the cottage until 6:30pm. Mostly due to the fact that we stopped three times, plus rush hour traffic in Montreal. I am pretty sore, both from sunburnage, and playing hard. Spent most of the time on the Sea Doo. I also got some knee boarding done, along with heaps of swimming. It was great spending time with my grandparents again. I felt a little guilty though - felt like we were just there to use the facilities and thats it. Since the four of us, somewhat just did our own little thing. For example, Mark and I would go into town, while Suz and Arden would just chill someplace in the forest. I felt even worse when Suz ate all of my grandmothers chocolate. The Drive home was much quicker - left at 8:30, got home at 3:30. Took a shower, somewhat unpacked, and then headed out with Mark and Gord to get some food. We originally wanted to go to Subway - but it was closed, so we headed to Tom And Jerrys. Mark went back home and Gord and I headed out to Charlies with the rest of my brothers gang (and Gavin) to celebrate Craigs 19th b-day. I think my allergies are acting up. My nose as been stuffed up the past few days, plus my eyes are watering and itchy. This would be a first for a long time, since I havn't experienced allergies since I was 13/14. If they are still bothering me tomorrow morning, going to try some antihistamine to see if that helps. I am going to see if I can transfer the balance of my Mastercard to a new TD Visa. Ever since the merger between TD and Canada Trust, I havn't been able to check my credit card balance online. This is due to the fact that my credit card is now owned by CitiBank not TD. Meh! But the new interface is nice and clean, and offers some pretty sweet new features! I'm happy. To be a kid again... Wednesday, August 1, 2001 - 22:08:18 Permalink I went for a bike ride tonight, around my neighbourhood - brought back some old memories. Being a kid with a bike, is like being and adult with a car. You are given so much freedom. My brother and I would literally leave at 10am or so, and not come home until it got dark - even then sometimes we didn't come home until the next day because we slept over at someones house. Mark and I used to go bike riding all the time in the summer time. Hanging out at Flurry park; if you would wait at the right moment, a small fog would start to form - just at knee height. I miss those days. (I wrote that little blurb yesterday day!) I washed the car today, and started getting prepped for trip to Cottage on Friday. Meh! I don't feel like writing anymore. |
