You're cleared for takeoff

I was finally able to go flying yesterday! It was a little windy, but still good enough to hop in the plane. We flew in a Cessna 150, which was an older than I thought. We headed up to 2400 feet where I was given the chance to fly the plane. It was great, a lot easier than fyling in a simulator. In the real world, everything is .. softer - not as 'instant' as it is on the computer.

My activities yesterday has got me thinking. With all the fear around airplanes now a lot of larger corporations are going to want to ship their personel using privet jets. Guarantee you there is going to be a larger demand for private pilots.

Today, I pretty much just helped my parents out at the restaurant. I should have taken some photos :( Layed some tile, did some grouting, moved some stuff. I wasen't really going to do anything else this Sunday.

Meh, short entry - but good stuff on tv. I watch tv now!

Ahh Autumn!

It's been a great fall lately. The temperature has been in the high teens, yes rainy - but at least it's not snow!

I got some pretty snazzy new clothes, at a good price too! I'm happy.

It looks like my trip to NYC is finally starting to get finalized. Lindsay I am pretty sure is going 100%, as for Gord and Bryna - still waiting on some paper work. There was also talk of taking the following Monday off, which would be nice as well.

I feel so shitty, maybe its because I have literally ate out for every meal for the past week or so. I really have to start eating more healthy. I was going to start this Monday, but that never happened. Meh.

Also looking forward to finally going flying this weekend, lets just hope the weather is behaving.

Nothing really else new to report. Going to update contact information on my website, plus fix some broken links here and there.

Audrey, Sue, Lindsay

Been looking through all the web journals/blogs/diarys or whatever you want to call them and have been noticing a trend. People are BUSY! I think its that time of year, where companies are starting to gear up near the end of their fiscial year trying to make earnings. Kids at school have their mid-terms, and parents are getting reading for Haloween and maybe even Christmas!

I think I am slowly starting to change things at work. Last week I replaced their only Linux server with a FreeBSD box (yay!) and just yesterday I started up streaming mp3 server on it. Employees from all departments have been putting their music on the machine for other people to listen. Yaay for Apache and mod_mp3 (sorry for the geek talk Sue!).

I didn't end up going flying on Thursday, my instructor was behind schedule and it got dark pretty fast. I am going today though, at 2:45, yaaay!

Last night was pretty fun, I was at Gords place until 3am - playign video games! It felt like when I was a kid, when I would sleep over at my friends place, playing Nintendo 64. This time, I dont have to ride my bike home :)

I was kinda irked that I got an ICQ Message from Lindsay saying that she couldn't do anything with me tonight. Then I checked my e-mail and she said that she can do stuff after 5pm. Not sure what we are going to end up doing, if anything. I was originally thinking of going to the city, but I think it would suck being there at night time, in this shitty weather.

My Audrey arrived yesterday, but nobody was home to sign for it :( UPS is retarded in that they dont deliver on Sat/Sun. I have to wait until Monday before I can play with my new toy.

I love that feeling when you accidentially print a receipt at an ATM, and you find out you have MORE money in your bank account then you thought :)

Free as a bird

Meh, don't feel like writing in the journal today, so it's going to be a short one.

I am going flying tomorrow at our local flight school. It's an intro flying lession. 1 Hour in the air or so.

The weather has been shitty the past few days. It was snowing for about 2 hours today - it melted when it hit the ground though. This is the annoying period of the season. Where its not hot enough to be comfertable, yet not cold enough to wear full fledged winter ware.

I haven't heard back from Toni nor Jennifer... hrm, I wonder whats going on :/

Holy fucking shit!

Lindsay told me I don't sware enough - she even laughed at me because I used the word "heck". It's odd, I sware when I am talking, but I never seem to sware when I am writing shit in my journal or in e-mails. I don't know why, but I am going to try to swear some more, just for you Lindsay!

Friday was pretty chills, Gord came over and we just hung out with my brother and his girlfriend. Didn't really do much, just talked and talked, until about 1:30am. Suzanne (brothers girlfriend) brought over a friend from work. She was pretty cute, but has a boyfriend :/

I got up at the crack of dawn on Saturday to bring my car in to get its first scheduled maintenace. I was shocked to find out that I had to pay a total of $0 for it! WHOOHOO! I did, however, have a nail in my tire, so the guy had to remove it and plug it up (which cost me $15). I knew it was going to be free, but I thought you had to pay for consumables (oil, filter, etc..). Volkswagen r00ls!

That night Gord and I rented "Driven". Peice of shit movie. I found my self not really paying attention to what was going on. Too much talk and not enough action. Went home, and found an ICQ message from Lindsay!

We just hung out, watched a little TV - talked. It was something to do, but as always I had a good time. I love making her laugh. She's at work right now (hehe, had to be there at 9am) so I told her I would visit her. I need to go to the mall anyways because I want to pick up a DVD.

I made an appointment for my familiarization flight yesterday. It's for this Thursday at Buttonville Airport. On Wednesday I might be going to see Incubus with Lindsay - I really hope I can go!

Gotta Love those crazy people!

Looks like its going to be a rainy, yet warm weekend coming up! Today was beautiful, around 20 C - going to hover in the high 'teens until Monday.

Finally bringing my car in for its first oil change at 8 000kms. Doing that on Saturday, so thats an hour and a half of my morning gone. Nothing really else planned for the weekend, but that's probably going to change pretty soon.

I tried to send Fiona an email last night, bounced :( Hotmail told me that her account was 'inactive'. I can't remember her boyfriends last name (which is also part of his email address), so I can't email him either. It's a shame we didn't keep in better touch :( I started writing a letter to Toni last night, but didn't finish it. I also started Kats CD, I think its going to be hard filling 80 mins of pure Blake goodness. Maybe I will fill the rest up with some data (mp3s, photos, etc..) or heck! leave it blank!

Some stupid retard keeps posting guestbook entries that make no sense at all. From what I can tell this guy/girl is using Bell South ADSL. Leave it to those crazy slack jawed yokels in the south of USA to post stupid stuff like this:

"DUDE...
YOU are so lame, you and your stupid ass cracker webpage go get a life and leave my girlfriend alone she is MINE. you are the lamest most ugly thing i have ever seen. You should have NEVER broken up with her she is so perfect, so sexy, sweet she is everything a guy wants in life why did you actually man email me."

and this one, that I got tonight:

"blake i have said it once and i will say it again You need to leave my girlfriend alone. You are not her master, so that means you cannot make her do the things that only you want. You cheeted on her and you want her back GET OVER IT! she will never ever go back out with you, expecally since you treated her like shit that is why she has me i treat her wonderful she is loved and NOT pressured into doing things that she dosn't want to do. Seriously man u need to know the rules of dateing."

I just love the spelling...

I honestly have NO idea what this guy is talking about. He obviously has the wrong person.

Happy Thanksgiving

Went to Amys place in the city - had a great time. Saw some old faces, met a few new people. I just got up (1pm) so today is pretty much shot, going to a pig roast tonight. Everyone on my dads side of the family is going to be there, which I haven't seen in years. Originally when my parents asked me if I wanted to go, I said yes - but right now, I am having second thoughts.

My room is a fucking mess! I wanted to spend most of the day today cleaning it, but that's not going to happen. My stupid window wont close, so my room is SUPER freezing cold. I spent about 20 minutes last night trying to get it closed, ended up using a towel so fill in the open spots. I am going to have to go out onto the roof and close it from the outside.

I ended up getting my mom two tickets to see Momma Mia. It's a musical about Abba - meh, she liked it! :) (She turned 50 yesterday).

I'm just glad it's the long weekend :) Doesen't feel like it though.

Oh yeah, if you can't decrypt this message because I dont have your public key - let me know where I can get it so I can add it to my keyring!

You know your old when...

Everywhere I look, people I know are getting married, having kids, and moving into their first home. What's different now, is that I am being invited or involved somehow.

So happy that this weekend is a long weekend. Plans are slowly forming! Saturday, Jim is coming by. We are going to be building some antennae for a wireless ethernet project he is working on. That night, David and I are heading down to Amys new place in the city for a little get together. Sunday night is the family get-together for thanksgiving. Monday, is a holiday - so no work, yipee!
