Slam me to the left, Shake me to the right!
Saturday, July 27, 2002 - 22:07:59 Permalink | On this day in 2003 Hmm, I think thats the longest journal title ever. You've probably heard that title before someplace... tell me where and you get a gold star! Work is extremely quiet tonight. I have taken this oppourtunity to startup yet *another* website. I'm kinda impressed at what I have come up with. It's your typical "blake style" website... green, lines, icons, simple! A hint: The only thing you are supposed to leave behind (when camping, hiking, etc..) are ____. Weather looks good for the cottage! Might rain on Monday, but thats fine, since thats the day we leave (and will be in the car for 7 hours). There is a 60 day "event" that I am participating in that started tonight. My friend Kat says I wont be able to complete all 60 days - I think otherwise. She's going to help me with it.. someone I can vent to! Only two people know about it (Andy and Kat) and I wont tell you until after the 60 days. It's part test, will power, strength, and endurance! ugh! I hate thinking "oh wow, no new mail lately" and this WHOLE TIME (ie past 4 hours) my mail client wasn't running. He was asian! Friday, July 26, 2002 - 20:07:50 Permalink | On this day in 2001 I was presented with a weird situation today. Someone had brought a new phone into my bosses office. I saw who it was, but I didn't know his name. A few minutes later the boss arrived and asked me who brought the phone in: Boss: Who brought me this new phone? I just felt akward saying this d00ds race. Work is really draining me! Two more days, the off to the cottage. Tomorrow I am helping my friend and his girlfriend move. Then its off to work! On Sunday its haircut day, clean the car, pack,etc... Then off to work. Days getting shorter.. blah! Yay! New Site! Tuesday, July 23, 2002 - 02:07:42 Permalink | On this day in 2003 You've probably already saw the new website. What do you think? Liz and I spent the day together today (before I went to work). Had lunch at Le Marche, spent some time at chapters, then froliced in the rain! She introduced me to a Fruizzi! So tasty! Shhhh! I also saw liz take a loonie out of the tip jar, teehee... needed it to pay for mine ;) Listening to some Happy Hardcore, havn't in a looooong time. Newfoundland and what? Saturday, July 20, 2002 - 16:07:59 Permalink | On this day in 2003 I went to track a package I sent on the Canada Post website and saw this:
Turns out Newfoundlands' official name is now "Newfoundland and Labrador". So whenever you are sending mail to the province, you have to use "NL" instead of "NF" as the province code. Dumb. Just as dumb has having a bilingual province code for Quebec (anglophones use QC, while francophones use PQ [province quebec]). Had dinner, desert, and a movie with Sarah last night. Good to see her again. The Thai place we went to was really cool. We made it just in time too! Cause when we left, there was a linup out the door! Saw K-19 The Widomaker as well. Okay movie, slow in quite a few bits. We had dessert at a Movenpick in Yorkville, and the stupid bitch waitress never gave us our bill. I hate when they do that. We had some time to kill. I was glancing through a Wired magazine, when I saw an article on the new HK MP7. Only reason why I read it, is because of Counter-Strike :) And I know what an MP5 looks like. Its super light (made mostly of plastic and carbon fibre). Take a look here for more info. Seven Day Wonder Thursday, July 18, 2002 - 01:07:25 Permalink CBC is going to upgrade my status from "Casual" to "Temporary". This means that I actually *sign* a contract, which locks me in until March 31st. I also get benefits! Yay! Until the end of August, I will be working every day of the week. Saturday-Wednesday 4pm-12am, Thursday-Friday 10am-6pm. Wheee overtime! (if my calculations are correct, the thursday and friday I will get double time :)) Liz joined me for dinner on Tuesday night. Was nice to see her! We had a little romp in a nearby soccer field >:) Getting hot again (humid), humidex hit 41C today. Bleh. bleh-o-rama Sunday, July 14, 2002 - 22:07:51 Permalink | On this day in 2003 What goes up, must go down. I have declared my wallet lost! Two days of searching has yeilded nothing. Tomorrow is the "must get new id" day. Thats at least 8 pieces of plastic I need to get. Such a pain in the ass. I just want to go home.. still at work. One of those perfect days Saturday, July 13, 2002 - 13:07:37 Permalink | On this day in 2001 Yesterday was one of those "man I wish this day would never end" type dealy things. It started off by Mark and I heading up to Wasaga beach. Its amazing how much faster you can get up there without snow! (we usually go to collingwood for skiing at blue mountain). Parked the car, and chilled on the beach. I whipped out my book and got some sun. The water was AWESOME (i'm so excited for my cottage now, because of how warm the water is going to be), pefect temperature. Not once did I squeel or bitch about how cold it was. Had lunch (at subway of course), then we pulled out the bikes (well, mark had his roller blades). We rode around, across the boardwalks, enjoying the sun. We took some pics of us (goofing around, take a peek at blakecrosby.com/pics/), then headed home. The temperature was amazing, not too hot to have to turn on a/c but not too cold to have windows rolled up. To top it all off, the whole gang of us (LBP crew, Chinook crew, and some Mazo stranglers) decided to hit Charlies after pre-drinking at my house. As always, we were reunited with some people we havn't seen in a while. It was fun. There does seem to be a distrubing trend happening that night. People just decided to leave without saying goodbye! In particular, my brother (grrr) and Lisa/Tara (which I was having a nice conversation with Lisa, went to the bathroom, then *poof* they are gone!). Aww well, all was good. Congrats to Mira getting into Med School! (yay!) Now... if I can only find my wallet! Argg#&!(!%^& Tuesday, July 9, 2002 - 23:07:44 Permalink | On this day in 2001 Man, I am so stressed out right now. The past two days have been crazy! Not to mention the fact that I am lacking in sleep. Im so frustrated at so many people right now. I havn't been able to get a hold of Lisette the past week, she seems to have dissapeared off the face of the earth. Why I hate computer fags Sunday, July 7, 2002 - 16:07:35 Permalink | On this day in 2001 I fucking HAAATE people like this: Fucking retards... I smell burnt trees! Saturday, July 6, 2002 - 18:07:29 Permalink I got up this morning at around 11am to the sweet smell of burning wood. I looked out side it was pretty hazy. I would probably have had NO idea what this was had I not experienced the brush fires when I was in Sydney. I turned on the radio to confirm what I had originally thought... there were forest fires in Quebec (about 800kms east of Toronto). Normally the weather systems in Canada go west->east. There just happens to be a convective weather pattern above Ontario and Quebec which is blowing the smoke into Ontario (and as a side effect, we might have super large thunderstorms tonight). Nothing else new! Can't wait to go to the cottage though - will be "super fun" (you must say that with a french accent!) birthday://135.years.ca Monday, July 1, 2002 - 20:07:41 Permalink | On this day in 2001 Called the grandparents today - just to let them know when the gang is coming up to the cottage :) Liz and I chilled together two nights ago. We saw minority report, meh! It was an okay movie. I also bought a few books yesterday. "Ethernet: The Definitive Guide" and "The Bourne Identity". Havn't really started reading either of them. Today was sooo hot, I beleive hit got up to 44C (with humidex). I pretty much didn't do anything today (before work) because of the heat. Work is quiet. |
