Pool Closed Due To Fouling
Tuesday, April 29, 2003 - 23:04:32 Permalink | On this day in 2005 *reads title again* ahahah. That was the text of a sign at the Gym today. Fouling? wtf is that?!?!... Lets see what dictionary.com says:
The funny thing is that the pool was recently rennovated. During that time we wern't able to use the pool (not that I did anyways), so they reimbursed us for not having access to it. I picked up a cheque for $170 yesterday.. anyways. It was nasty then, and it's nasty now. There is just something about public pools that irks me. A little birdy at work told me that my contract will be renewed! Both happy and dissapointed. Happy because well, I have a job. Dissapointed because it's another year that i'm not going traveling. So yeah.. as usual this whole SARS thing was blown way out of proportion.. Take a look at what I posted on Gords forum. CNN news people are fucking idiots. Ted Rogers (the owner of the Toronto Blue Jays) bought over 30,000 seats and sold the tickets to the general public for $1 each. The Dome was sold out. This just proves that people are willing to go to a baseball game if ticket prices weren't so outrageous. Mark is going to a game on Friday with work. Not sure if i'm going to hang around for it to finish (it starts at 7 :/) or just go home. I think I will do the latter and spend some time with Gord. I picked up my 5U box today... weighs a shitload. I also forgot to get the keys from the previous owner. I can't power it on until I get those keys. When he told me where I can pick it up (Mowat Ave.) I touhgt for a second.. "I know that street from somewhere". infiniteloop-/home/bcrosby>whois tucows.com Ahh.. yes. Hope you guys like the new website. SARS Free Sunday, April 27, 2003 - 23:04:28 Permalink It was a pretty good weekend. Saturday was pretty busy.. FINALLY got my hair cut. Also picked a few t-shirts. I really need to stop spending money on clothes :P Also headed to a BBQ at Andres' house. I had a great time! A bunch of us were playing a drinking game and listening to music. All of a sudden a heard a song thats all to familiar. It will never make it to the top of the music charts. I was so excited when I heard it. It was amazing how someone else likes the BBC Countdown Music! Greg told me there was a cd with all the tunes on it. I did some searching and found about 9 tracks or so, different variations, all used by the BBC. I will be posting them soon for those of you who want to listen (if you know the details of accessing my mp3 collection, you can find it there). We had a good time. Sunday wasn't too exciting. Moved some stuff around.. Now my mac is in my room :) As well as my room is pretty much clean now. I will be tackling the bookshelf soon. There are so many books on there that I can rid of and replace with my newly purchased ones. My mom came to me yesterday and was like "you seem down lately, is everything alright?". I had been feeling a little depressed.. especially since easter weekend. Just nothing exciting happening on my off hours. During the winter I had snowboarding to look forward to. Now? nothing. I did end up going biking with Mark (and Gord last week), but it was a short ride (not something that took up the whole day). Hopefully this summer will be action packed each weekend (Wasaga Beach anyone?) Various Ramblings Monday, April 21, 2003 - 21:04:33 Permalink | On this day in 2005 | On this day in 1999 This weekend was pretty disappointing. The only night of excitement was Thursday night when a bunch of us went on a mischievous streak. I found out last night that Liz surfs, and apparently she's really good too. If I end up going down, i'll be sure to get her to teach me :) Im trying to convince her to get her cottage in the Keys since I really dont want to spend the time in Ft. Lauderdale (where she lives). Parents asked me tonight if I was moving into Barts place. I said no. but that I was checking out a place tomorrow (well, Eric hopefully is). I have a feeling the boot is going to come soon. New website is about 1/4 done. Should be launched soon! Work this week is going to be insane. Thank god its only a four day week though. yay! I picked up some pretty sweet shorts from Fox today. I believe my summer clothing shopping is now officially over. I just need to pick up a pair of rollerblades and i'm set. Gord has these wicked fox shorts that when they get wet, a pattern emerges (a bunch of fox logos). The weather has been pretty warm. Warm enough for me to have the window open in my room over night. I even had the fan going last night. I miss that feeling. I was up to about 3am talking to Liz. I haven't done that since the days before Australia. I'm excited to meet up with her this summer (if all goes according to plan). I was toying with the idea of getting my hair dyed again. Bryna introduced me to the Clairol website. You upload a photo of yourself and then try on different hairstyles/colours. I think i'm going to stick to the au naturel look for now. Maybe later this summer, bleach my hair again (or get it died blue). Thanks to Sue I have another Kylie album! I'm still looking for the Bourne Identity Soundtrack though ( I have one song ). Thanks Sue! Update: I also say Leah F. at the Gym today..did a little catching up. She's back in town for the summer and seems super happy to be done school. As well: check out this Cheeto! Oh yeah.. and another fine quality Australian Production. 2400 Baud Modem Sunday, April 13, 2003 - 20:04:19 Permalink | On this day in 2005 | On this day in 2000 i'm in a weird mood. I just feel like spending thousands of dollars on new gadgets and furniture for my cool new apartment in the city. Problem is: I dont have thousands of dollars, nor a cool apartment in the city. Reading "Wired" usually does that to me. It also inspires me to redo my website design.. too bad I dont have any design/artistic qualities to do such a cool redesign. I actually *folded* some laundry today! w00t. The pile is still sitting on the floor though. At least it is in a neat pile :P Mark and I had a "car wash challenge" yesterday. The challenge was to see which method of washing your car was the best. Mark put his money on the automatic car wash at a local gas station. I put my money on a "do it yourself" car wash (with bays and a powerwaher/scrubber). Price: Mark: $10, Blake: $4 Weekend was good. Went to the mall today with Mark and Gord. Picked up the latest issue of Wired (need some reading material on the stairmaster). Also picked up Google Hacks. Should be fun to read. Thanks Sue! for uploading the Massive Attack CD. Oh yeah, and Uplink isn't as cool as you think. Is it spring yet? Saturday, April 12, 2003 - 12:04:55 Permalink | On this day in 2001 | On this day in 1999 whooop! Journal updating time. Yeah, yeah.. i've been slacking. Honestly, there really hasen't been anything exciting happening... and still. So yeah.. Work is going good. Things have finally settled down. I don't think anyone gives a shit about the war anymore. There is still a crap load of stuff that needs to get done... which is why I was moved to 9-5 so that I can co-ordinate stuff with the rest of my co-workers. It's been good on the wallet. My gas tank is still full, and I filled up a week and ahalf ago! Next month I will be buying a monthly pass for the train. It's great going outside at 7:30am and not having to spend 10 minutes deicing the car. Summer is finally coming! 8C out there right now.. All the snow has finally melted! w00t w00t. This week and next are short 4 day weeks! Yaaay for easter. Plus working for a nice Government job, I also get easter monday off. I am seriously thinking of heading to Mont Tremblant. 50 Runs open. Spring conditions.. Hottie french snowboarders! Nobody can come though.. so I dont want to make it a solo expedition. New website coming soon :) normal hours at the rat race Saturday, April 5, 2003 - 12:04:24 Permalink | On this day in 2005 | On this day in 1999 Got news yesterday that I am working Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 now. Thats good. Normal weekends to spend with my friends :) This weather is pissing me off. Yesterday I had to scrape the ice off my car 6 times. Annoying freezing rain and ice pellets. Rafting has been cofirmed 100% Just have to wait :) not sure what else to write. |
