Spam Spam Spam!
Thursday, October 30, 2003 - 21:10:31 Permalink | On this day in 2002 It's insane! I'm getting spam on all fronts recently. Let me explain. There are quite a few unions at work. When I first started I was part of CMG (Canadian Media Guild), after I was hired I was then part of APS (Association of Professionals and Supervisors). There are three CMG units, and they are in the process of becoming one huge super union. I've been getting packages snail mailed to me *daily* from CMG about this. "Vote now!" "it's your turn to vote".. blah blah.. sometimes i'd get TWO packages (stupid fuckers spelt my street name wrong) a day. Kraft envelope size too! My work email account is finally starting to get spammed. Why? Well I made some postings to a mailing list which had a web archive of my postings. Attached to my email was my signature, which contained my email address :(.. Bastards! So the kicking horse trip is all planned and ready to go! Can't wait to hit the slopes with 7 of my friends. Too bad it's not until Feb. :( The weather is going to be super warm this weekend. Way above seasonal in the high teens. It might hit 20C. Wicked weather for my trip to London with the rest of the gang. Staying at Karas house. It's also Cara's B-Day tomorrow.. I just forgot until now! I'm in the middle of designing a new website. Going to be simple.. White and black.. nothing exiting. Don't know when i'm going to finish. Does anyone have a copy of Panther I can download? Super Snowboarding eXtreme Wednesday, October 22, 2003 - 11:10:50 Permalink I'm getting SSX3 today (for Game Cube). Can't wait.. must get. Went to see Cavalia last night with Cara. Very very very very good show. They did some amazing technical riding and trick riding. Didn't think you could do such things with horses! Getting colder, might snow tomorrow. Snowbording Show! Sunday, October 19, 2003 - 14:10:50 Permalink | On this day in 2004 It was a rainy day and we all decided to head down to the city for the annual Snowboard Show and SBC Party. We all piled into two cars and made the trek. Fun was had by all. I was able to pick up some boots and bindings for Cara. All for under $200! Granted I doubt that they will last her after this year, but it's a good price for someone who is just learning. Kara got a new board and jacket. Andrew bought a snow skate. The rest were just small purchases, hats, etc.. After our tasty dinner at the Lonestar Cafe (man I always eat too much when I go out) we hit the Liquor store and pounded back some Rev before we hit the party (well the rest of the crew did. since I was driving I refrained from enjoying the liquid goodness). The party was great. They were giving away so much free stuff, it's insane. I came home with a spring jacket and a t-shirt. The jacket is a girl's jacket though, so Cara got it :) Gord won a Snowboard! The rest won various other goodies. DVDs, shirts, hats, etc.. I came home at around 3am, with Cara sleeping in my bed. She's going to a weekend conference here in Aurora so it's easier for her to stay at my place. I woke her up when I came home :( but she was excited to see the new gear I came home with. I put her bindings on her board this morning (or should I say afternoon) and they fit perfectly. I can't wait for her to get here after the conference so that we can try them on. Im going to attempt to finish cleaning up my room a bit today. It's pretty chilly outside. No More Indian Summer Sunday, October 12, 2003 - 10:10:44 Permalink I woke up this morning, not to the usual bright sunny day that i've been used to over the past week, but to a cold overcast morning. That's fine. I just really enjoyed the traditional warm spell we usually get in the early fall. Tonight is going to be the Thanksgiving dinner. I'm not sure who's all coming over, but I think the family from my dad's side is (which is usual for thanksgiving). My grandparents have been over for a while (since last Thursday) - They seem to be doing alright. Last night Cara and I saw "Kill Bill". Very unique movie. Very gory and shocking. Things happen when you least expect them. I'm not quite sure if I liked the movie. It was entertaining. However the 10-15min bit of Anime kinda sucked (I hate that type of animation). As well, the fact that the movie is split into two parts sucks. However, our tickets only ended up being around $6 each. I just got home and crashed. Was pretty tired and fell asleep right away. Mark called at 1:50am to ask me where I was. He was wondering why I wasn't at the Grey Goat (where they were) and that I should come down. I couldn't hear a word he was saying because it was so loud, so I just hung up and went back to bed. Nobody told me that they were going there, otherwise I would probably have gone. My room is a mess again. Mainly clothes though - maybe I will clean up a bit today. Most likely going to be going out for drinks tonight with the boys after they are done with hockey. Less and less time. Wednesday, October 8, 2003 - 13:10:40 Permalink | On this day in 2005 Ahh the Indian Summer as arrived! Supposed to be in the mid 20's for the rest of the week. Soak in the sun while you can! I'm not quite sure what to write. I've been pretty uninspired to write much lately. Things have been pretty busy with work. More and more things are vying for my time now. Zelda, Cara, Work, InfiniteLoop. Rarely am I online at home anymore. I posted a pretty interesting "article" on how the Google Architecture is laid out. Take a peek at googleblog.ca. Cara and I are seeing Maroon 5 in concert at the Opera House on Nov 2nd. Tickets were only $12. Can't go wrong there! Work called me at 1:30am this morning. They were testing the new peering connection with Torix and some things needed attending to. I didn't really mind, because I would get to sleep in today! The torix connection should be going live next weekend. Now all we need to do is get peers. They are lined up and eagerly waiting to peer with us. Pretty exciting! Blah! Another provincial election has been called. This time in Saskatchewan. That means extra hours for me on Nov 5th! In an attempt to make some extra cash on the side (with Advertising) i'm designing a new website. It's going to have content that's updated hourly. Hopefully I can get that done soon! Hmmm 1:44pm and still no lunch yet. I'm going to go and grab some grub. what?! where! ah ha! Thursday, October 2, 2003 - 17:10:48 Permalink I'm finding it hard to concentrate at work these past few days. The littlest things would distract me. It's really frustrating. My pay cheque is about $140 bigger now, and will be until the end of the year. This is due to me reaching my CPP contribution limit. Normally I get that back when I file for taxes. I guess my current job is a little more brighter in the payroll department :) Going out for dinner tomorrow with Sarah. Haven't seen her in a while. Hopefully will be able to get Cara to come along as well. As for this weekend. No solid plans. If the weather holds up, Mark and I might head to the beach for some surfing. Must get back to work - at work late due to the Ontario Provincial Elections. |
