It's Not Christmas?
Monday, December 22, 2003 - 09:12:45 Permalink | On this day in 2004 This weekend was great. So much so, it felt like I was on vacation for a week. It's amazing how having a Friday off (and a jam packed weekend) can do that to you. The FRC and headed up to blue on Friday for some excellent riding. Conditions where good and the hills were empty. "Carve hill" did not dissapoint as it contained a fair amount of powdery goodness from the snowfall that occured throughout the day. Our (Mark, Sarah, and I) tummys were stuffed full of Kelseys goodness thereafter. I was pissed off when I woke up at 1pm on Saturday. My day, gone! Mark, Cara, and I headed up to the mall to do some last minute Christmas shopping. As expected the mall was a zoo. People parking on grass, etc.. I still have to buy presents for Cara. I didn't know what to get her until we went to the mall on Sat. She gave me quite a few ideas. After a quick break, Mark and I headed down to Andre's Christmas Party. Had an awesome time. Mark has issues holding his alcohol (thats his "fake passing out"). For some reason everybody but Andre is smiling in this picture. It was good times had by all. The original plan was to sleep over. However, Mark wasn't feeling too good (he has a sore throat) so we decided to book it at 2:30. Sunday was filled with video games and snowboarding. Cara and I headed up to Blue yesterday to get in some night riding. We had a great time. There were some icy patches, but all in all I think everyone had a good time! Cara bashed her head catching a back edge (ouch!) and Kris (in middle) rode right into me. Nobody was hurt and we laughed the rest of the way down the hill. Once again, Kelseys was in order. So now.. back at work. Quiet day (as expected) some people are gone on xmas holidays. Others (like my self) are doing work they "want to do". I love slow periods like this.. no big pressure to get things done (like the week before) just a relaxing working pace. Sanboxing is done, so I am now working on my Streaming project.. yeee-haw! Montreal, Busy, Busy, Busy! Tuesday, December 16, 2003 - 00:12:44 Permalink | On this day in 2001 Trip to Montreal with Cara was great. I had lot's of fun. I should be uploading the pics soon. We visited old montreal, Mount Royal, the Biosphere, did some shopping. It was great to see the city again and to spend some time with Cara's dad. The train ride wasn't that bad either.. I just wish I could see out of the window! This week is pretty busy. Christmas Party at work, Snowboarding on Friday, Meeting friends at the Fox on Thursday, Christmas Party on Saturday, possible brunch at a friends place on Sunday. I have an idea of what to get Cara for Christmas. Ardens says it's a stupid gift.. I think it's something she really needs. What's better than a gift that someone will actually use? Ok, I need to sleep. Setting up apache and tomcat sandboxes drain me. I wanna start work on the streaming project!! Snowbording, Movies, Work Sunday, December 7, 2003 - 10:12:17 Permalink | On this day in 2005 It's been a wicked weekend so far. Saturday was the best. The FRC went out for the first snowboarding run of the year (at Blue Mountain - limited runs open). This was also Cara's first time out. She had a great time. We also met up with Andre and the gang and had a TASTY dinner at Kelseys after. By the time we got home it was about 7:30. We (Cara and I ) chilled for a bit, playing Nintendo waiting for Gord to call so we can meet up and see The Last Samurai (9/10 in my books). It was an excellent movie (Imdb gave it a 7, with the majority of voters giving it a 10) which showed (accurately in my mind) the struggles the Samurai had in an ever modernizing Japan. It's a rare occasion where I cry at a movie - I wasn't able to hold back my tears at this one, crying like a baby during the climax of the film. Go see it, it's great! Cara is complaining that her body is sore all over - poor girl. She can hardly walk! What's happening today? Not sure, I'm thinking of some Chinook Brunch :) Going to take care of cleaning up my room a bit. I also have some "real" work to do, since I wasn't able to do it on Friday. Also need to hit Shoppers Drugmart for some essentials. I really want to redesign my website, but have no time :( It's Snowing! Tuesday, December 2, 2003 - 07:12:32 Permalink | On this day in 2001 Wow! It's been an exhausting day. The annual "get everyone from offices all around the country in one place" conference is today and tomorrow. I did my 1 hour presentation on Google and Search Engines. It's great to put the faces to all the names and voices. My presentation went so well that my boss' boss said that "you should take it on the road". Something is wrong with my TV, everything is stretched. so much so, I can't see the credits (or the channel number) at the bottom of the screen. I was going to write more, but i'm too tired :/ |
