Disapointment is Four

I was kindly reminded why I hate the gym on Mondays. Fucking busy as hell, put me in the most shitty mood ever. I left thirty minutes later.

This weekend was filled with no excitement whatsoever. Mark suggested on TODAY that we could have gone to the Science Centre. Why didn't we think of it then?! This is the second time it's happened.

I have been disappointed four times today. I think it's a new record.

I'm also kicking my self in the arse for *not* taking care of any budget saving things... like new car insurance company.

Swiss Army Vendor

Today at work was hectic :/ It did come with a reward though. I got a free Swiss Army Knife. It's pretty pimp too! Comes with a pen, screw driver (with torx, philips, etc..) two knives, vice grips. Now if only I can take the "Akamai" logo off it. So far, Akamai has given out the coolest swag (A dude at work got a 5th generation 20gb Ipod). Google is now in second place

Not sure what to do this weekend, however I think I'm going to keep my self busy. Maybe go down to Niagara again to visit Laura? Not sure what her sched is like this week (Tap dogs maybe?!)

Downloading some new music a la Bit Torrent.

The Greatest Snowboard Trip

Got notice today that from now until Nov 26th, the line that my Go train on will be under maintenance. Go says that we can expect delays of ten to fifteen minutes. Why not do this maintenance on the weekends when the train doesn't run? However, they are setting up an email alert system that will "push" alerts to you, instead of having to check the website every day. Handy!

Had to stay late at work yesterday because of The Greatest Canadian. Another ratings grab for CBC.

Wow! Kat just msg'd me on IRC, she wants to catch up. She is Andrews wife (wow, sounds so weird). I was invited to their wedding but couldn't go because couldn't take a whole month off work. Going to Australia for a week is kinda not cool.

The SBC Snowboard party was good as expected. Photos are available of course. I was able to snag a hat, toque, and some really really small t-shirts.

No plans this weekend (other than working at 'nook on Sunday afternoon). Going to be staying in the city on Friday to have dinner with some friends.

My friend (James) who works at the BBC said there is a job opening in his dept. - pays ~$90K (Canadian). Worth the hassle of applying and working out visa stuff? Not sure. You look at things in a different light when you have a mortgage to worry about.

My debt reduction scheme is going along nicely. Only $1800 of interest charged loans to payoff. $500 of interest free loans still to go (ie, Cara). I plan on having debt payed off by December. Which leaves a month and a bit for Kicking Horse, which is already at $360 (chinook and poker winnings go into that pot). Speaking of which... Trip planning is going along nicely. The crew this time around will consist of: Mark, Gord, Me, Kara, Andrew, Shaun. Feb 11 to the 18th. Gonna be fun! can't wait.

Geeks, Poker, Turkey

Extended long weekend! Yaaay!

Visited Laura on Thurs/Friday. Had some tasty food, pigged out on candy, and did some geocaching. No better way then to spend one of the last beautiful days outside.

That was pretty much the highlight of my weekend. Saturday wasn't too exciting, and neither was Sunday. Went to Ajax to visit my cousin for Thanksgiving. Played some poker (won $60!) until 4 in the morning.

Plans for today? Not sure. Might head to the gym. I've already got my fix of X-Wing Alliance in (played for about an hour). I also want to clean up my room and get a serial cable for a project i'm working on. It's pretty gloomy out side so it's going to be a lazy day inside, thats for sure. I might also help my brother with a website he wants to do (poker stats, etc..). It's been a while since i've done any sort of programming.

It's funny how many "geeks" get uber excited when they see a girl who knows what "ps auwx | grep httpd" does. Come on guys!

Let the evidence do the talking

Work has been frustrating. In order to shush the "open source community" with their crying and complaining, we released an Ogg Vorbis version of Radio One and Two. We now have a whopping 15 users who listen at any one time *twirls fingers* yipee! What a waste of time.

I'm just venting.

So far, no plans this weekend. I have friday off work. I'm taking that oportunity to visit Laura in Niagara. Heading down after work tomorrow.

Turns out I can get waaay cheaper car insurance with another company. $2000 a year cheaper! That results in about 200 a month in savings. Need to investigate further.

Nothing like back to back episodes of CSI. Miami followed by NY.
