Insomnia again!

Can't sleep!

This weekend had it's ups and downs. Went to see Badly Drawn Boy on Friday. Great concert, shame Mark and I had to leave early (yay for public transit + living in Aurora). Saturday night met up with Courtney, Rachelle, and Abra for some drinks at the Grey Goat.

I haven't worked on the new website in a while. I'm really getting lazy when it comes to this whole internet thing. Blah.

I've confirmed that my parents will buy me new boots for Christmas.. yaaay! The ones I want to get are the DC Judge (i'd love to link you, but thanks to the wonders of flash, I cannot).

The IT Service Management training course went well last week. I will find out in a few weeks if I passed the exam or not. It was a pretty straightforward exam, 40 questions, need to answer 26 right to pass.

It's past my bed time.

And the award goes to...

The past two days have been fun filled. It was the annual WebEd conference at work. It's a two day conference that brings together all the employees of New Media from across Canada to mix, mingle, meet, great, and learn. This year was the first time they gave out "Awards of Excellence". Ninety people were nominated, only eight (or so) were picked. I was one of them! Myself, along with two coworkers got the award for working on the streaming project. I wasn't expecting it at all! Made my day for sure.

I also attended some interesting workshops as well. Everything from eye tracking, photojournalism, web Standards, and Library resources. I learned a lot! Some of which I plan on incorporating in some of my photographs and websites. The high-light of the event was a talk by Clive Thompson. I've grown up reading his articles in Shift and Wired.

I have Thursday off! Remembrance day and all. Not sure what i'm going to do that day.

Snow Quickie!

It snowed tonight! First snowfall of the season. Let's hope it keeps up.

Ouch!

I was bored tonight, so I signed up at snowboard.com. Nothing too exciting there... yet.

Just a quickie!

An interesting evening

An interesting night.. The restaurant was dead as predicted (who goes to a restaurant on Halloween?!). I came home and ordered a pizza and vegged in front of the TV. At first I was flipping between "The Sunday Night Sex Show" and "Skin Deep" (a cosmetic surgery show). Once that hour was over, I was flipping between "Med Students" (a show about McMaster medical students) and "Sex Tips for Girls". All I needed was some scented candles and a bubble bath and I was set ;)

Don't worry, i'm still straight!

I couldn't sleep (this was at 11:30) so I decided to hop online to see if anyone was around to chat to - nobody was online (until now..). I also logged in to Lava Life for shits and giggles. Four smiles! what the hell?! i've never gotten that many before (last time I logged in was last week). One profile was of the "asian persuasion" if you know what I mean. She was surprisingly cute, until I read this portion of her profile:

what about YOU?
* independent (drives! go-karts don't count btw!)
* well-educated (post-secondary+, doctors and lawyers most welcomed! *winks*)
* hardworking (not hardly working!)
* 20-24yrs-old (exceptions - if you're super hot)
* have eyes that can seduce me from across the room (heh...)
* gotta flash your pearly whites! (not a creepy smile... a nice, genuine, normal smile will do!)

Looks like mommy and daddy doesn't want little daughter to hook up with a poor, ugly, boy? That just turned me off totally. I'm surprised she even showed interest in me considering i'm white. ugh!

I got a new snowboard outfit on Friday. It was a total impulse buy :/ Mark took some photos of the new outfit just before we headed out to a movie with Gord and Kara. We saw "Saw" (saw!). Poor acting, good story. Script could use some tweaking too.

Mark and I had a discussion today about dating. He says that my "girl potential" is greater because I have an "online social life". I rebutted saying that trying to pursue a relationship by meeting someone online is too much work. At least with someone in person, more can get done in a shorter amount of time. You get to see what each other looks like right away. So many times everything seems great online, but as soon as the physical card gets dealt either side of the party isn't happy. All that time (sometimes months) flirting and talking online has gone to waste. I'd rather meet someone on the slopes snowboarding than online.

Still working on the new website. Hopefully I can have it up before December.

Happy spooky birthday Cara!
