Settled In
Sunday, July 16, 2006 - 21:07:14 Permalink So after a few weeks of moving in, we've finally settled down. There are still some housekeeping things that need to get done, but other than that it's done. Im going to wait until everything is done before I post some photos of the interior. I did take some photos of the neighbourhood tonight. This includes some shots from the roof, the park (with a water fountain thats turned off) and a 5 min walk to the Toronto City Centre Airport. I got a dimmer for the dining room lights. It's one of those touch plate types... except version 2. If you have the light set on a dim setting and turn it off then back on , it returns so the dimmed setting "gracefully". By gracefully I mean that it will return to the dimmed setting by "fading" in. I feel like the dimmer was designed by a Mac programmer. School is going good... get to pick our classes for next semester next week. Im curious what they are going to offer. Breathe Right? Wrong! Wednesday, July 5, 2006 - 10:07:29 Permalink Melissa bought some Breathe Right Nasal Strips as a solution to my snoring "problem". I tried them for the first time last night. What the product ends up doing is opening your nostrels by pulling them open. The strip is a hard plastic that wants stay "straight". When you apply it to your nose, it tries to spring back to its original shape but cant because it's affixed to your nose. It was very comfortable and didn't bother me at all. It didn't stop my snoring. I took a quick glance into surgical options for snoring. They don't look promising. 60% of patients who got Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty would not recommend getting it. After two years less than 40% of the patients remained snoring free. I think I will give her a set of ear plugs ... Melissa and I spent the last 4 days (and over $300 in gas) to move all of our stuff from Aurora/Etobicoke to the condo in Toronto. Sleeping in an unfamiliar place sucks. You're disorientated, super alert to sounds you are not familiar with. It was nice, however, to only wake up 45 minutes before I had to be at work :P We discovered that two plugs dont work as advertised. One is supposed to be hooked up to a light switch. That one does not work regardless of the switchs' position. The other outlet refuses to work outright. I'll toss up some more photos when the place is cleaned up a bit. |
